Further information about this vehicle type
The R752 double-decker carriages, also known as DBpza 752, belong to the fourth generation of Deutsche Bahn double-decker carriages and were manufactured between 1997 and 1999 by Deutsche Waggonbau AG (DWA) at its Görlitz plant. With their modern design and features, they are specially designed for use in regional transport and offer high capacity and improved comfort for passengers. The R752 coaches are characterised by their low-floor design, which allows step-free access at platform heights of 550 mm. This facilitates passenger exchange, especially for people with reduced mobility, and contributes to operational efficiency. Inside, the cars have spacious open-plan compartments in second class with up to 134 seats, depending on the type of underframe. A closed toilet system ensures hygienic conditions during the journey. Technically, the R752 cars are equipped with Görlitz VIII bogies and reach a maximum speed of up to 160 km/h. The KE-PR-A-Mg (D) brake system with magnetic rail brakes ensures reliable deceleration. Power is supplied centrally from the train busbar, supported by 24 V, 385 Ah batteries. A Klimaes air conditioning system ensures pleasant temperatures inside the carriage. The R752 double-decker carriages are a reliable choice for daily use in regional transport. Their ability to handle large numbers of passengers, combined with modern comfort features, underlines their importance in Deutsche Bahn's portfolio.
