Further information about this vehicle type

The R750 double-decker carriages, also known as DBz 750, represent a significant development in regional rail passenger transport for Deutsche Bahn. Introduced in the early 1990s, these carriages were specially designed for use on busy regional express routes. With their double-decker design, they offer increased capacity to meet the growing demands of commuter traffic. The R750 coaches are characterised by their high-entry design, which allows access at platform heights of 760 mm. This facilitates passenger exchange at higher platforms and contributes to operational efficiency. Inside, the coaches have spacious open-plan compartments in second class on both the upper and lower decks, which increases passenger comfort. Originally equipped with open toilet systems, the coaches were later converted to closed toilet systems to better meet hygiene standards and passenger expectations. Technically, the R750 cars are equipped with disc brakes and draw their energy centrally from the train busbar, which ensures a reliable power supply for lighting, air conditioning and information systems. Train destination displays are located on the outside of the cars, providing passengers with clear information about the route. Inside, stops and other relevant information are also displayed, making it easier for passengers to find their way around during the journey. The robust construction and well-thought-out interior design make the R750 cars a reliable choice for daily use in regional transport. Their ability to handle large numbers of passengers, combined with modern comfort features, underlines their importance in Deutsche Bahn's portfolio. For operators looking for proven and efficient vehicles for regional transport, the R750 double-decker carriages are an attractive option.
