Further information about this vehicle type

The R753 double-decker carriage is a reliable and comfortable centre carriage from the DBpza series, which was specially designed for regional transport by Deutsche Bahn. Manufactured between 1997 and 1999 by the renowned manufacturer DWA Görlitz, this carriage belongs to the first generation of modern double-decker trains, which today form the backbone of local transport in many German regions. With an entry height of 1,150 mm, the R753 is optimally designed for high-level platforms. The standard R753.0 version offers a total of 139 seats in 2nd class, while the R753.1 version with 136 seats can also be equipped with a kiosk area – ideal for longer regional connections with catering facilities. A special feature of the R753 is its sophisticated equipment: in addition to full air conditioning and a closed toilet system, the car has modern disc brakes, a central power supply via the train busbar and digital destination displays both inside and outside. These features not only ensure comfort and safety, but also meet the high demands of a modern commuter train in daily use. Thanks to their double-decker design, the R753 carriages offer high transport capacity – ideal for busy commuter routes in metropolitan areas. Their robust construction and the good availability of spare parts also make them an attractive option on the second-hand market for railway companies, transport associations and private operators.
