Further information about this vehicle type

The MaK G 322 “220 124” is a compact diesel-hydraulic shunting locomotive designed for light and medium shunting operations as well as light transfer services. The G 322 series was developed by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK) and built between 1996 and 1998. A total of 25 locomotives were manufactured for the Danish State Railways (DSB), where they operated as the DSB MK (II) series with fleet numbers MK 601 to MK 625. The G 322 formed part of MaK’s third locomotive programme and, following the takeover of MaK by Vossloh, the concept was continued in largely unchanged form as the G 400 B. The G 322 locomotive no. 220 124 offered for sale was built in 1996 and has a rated power output of 390 kW, a service weight of 40 tonnes and a maximum speed of 60 km/h. Power is provided by an MTU 8V 183 TD 13 diesel engine. Its two-axle design and configuration specifically developed for shunting operations make the MaK G 322 particularly suitable for industrial railways, private sidings, ports, freight terminals and railway yards. The G 322 uses hydraulic power transmission and was specifically designed for light and medium shunting duties. The technical specifications of locomotive 220 124 correspond to these key characteristics of the series. The G 322 “220 124” is comprehensively equipped for practical shunting operations. Its equipment includes radio remote control (FFS), an RK 900 shunting coupler, Webasto and an air dryer. According to the current sales documentation, the locomotive has accumulated approximately 60,000 operating hours and 294,000 kilometres. The current wheel diameter is stated at approximately 978 mm. As the locomotive remains in active operation, these operating figures are subject to change. Detailed maintenance information is also available. The locomotive's most recent major inspection according to the German EBO regulations was completed on 10 August 2020. The transmission was overhauled in May 2020 at approximately 52,000 operating hours, while the engine was overhauled in November 2021 at approximately 54,000 operating hours. According to the sales documentation, the locomotive has approvals for Germany (BOA Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia), Denmark and Sweden. The locomotive is currently leased and in active service and can be made available to a buyer subject to an appropriate lead time.
