Manufactured between 1957 and 1973, this locomotive class was specifically developed for freight transport and remained in service on Germany's railway network for decades. Thanks to its robust construction and reliable traction technology, the four-axle electric locomotive is particularly suitable for hauling freight trains on electrified railway lines. The BR 140 offered for sale, built in 1971, has a maximum speed of 110 km/h, a power output of 3,700 kW and a service weight of 83 tonnes. The locomotive features a Bo'Bo' axle configuration and an overall length over buffers of 16,490 mm. Its technical equipment includes the Mesa 23 train radio system and the PZB ER24 train protection system. The locomotive is approved for operation in Germany in accordance with EBO regulations. According to the owner, the locomotive is in good condition and is currently undergoing its scheduled general overhaul at a railway workshop. The last general overhaul was completed on January 21, 2018. Since then, the locomotive has covered approximately 450,000 kilometres. The electric locomotive is currently not operational.
